DXF file guide
How to upload multiple parts in a single DXF
If you need to cut several parts in the same material and thickness, you can draw them already nested on a single sheet and upload just one DXF file: the online quote recognises them automatically, one by one.
In your CAD
How to draw the sheet
Draw each part as you normally would, all in the same file. Around all the parts, draw a rectangle with the dimensions of the sheet you want to use — it must have the HIDDEN (dashed) linetype, on the same layer as everything else: there's no need to create a dedicated layer. The online quote recognises it from this, excludes it from cutting and uses it only as a dimensional reference.
Spacing between parts
Leave at least 2–3 times the material thickness between parts, with an indicative minimum of about 3–5 mm even on very thin sheet — this stops the cutting heat from distorting neighbouring parts.
Distance from the frame edge
Keep the same margins (2–3 times the thickness, minimum 3–5 mm) between each part and the edge of the sheet frame.
Frame dimensions
The frame must fit within our machine's usable cutting area. If you're not sure about the maximum dimensions available, contact us before uploading the file.
Note: the distances above are general guidelines. We do not automatically check that these rules are followed on upload — that remains the responsibility of whoever prepares the file. If a part is too close to another or to the edge, contact us before confirming the order.
